Structured around the poem of the same name, this show takes you through a visual and musical expression of dance, love, song, and life. Each concept has a musical motive with which it is associated. As any given theme is played, corresponding visual design elements can further express that theme making the show easily understood by all audiences. The opening keyboard ideas for “dance” have a very accessible and familiar feel to them, and appear throughout the show. Muted trumpets, along with vocals (that could be synthesized or sung by mic’d soloists) also permeate the program to further enhance musical references to show concept.
In the introduction, all of the basic concepts are communicated, followed by a more lengthy presentation of each theme. A chamber brass group eventually leads to an impressive swell of sound in the “love” section. At the conclusion of the program all of the themes are restated bringing all of the elements together again. Narration can further enhance the opening and closing of the show.
As with any Center X Productions show, visual concepts can be changed to fit the needs of your group. This show offers many unique musical moments and ideas that would work well with many themes or guard ideas.

Music and/or drill will be contest protected on a first come-first served basis, for each contest performance location you will be attending during the current marching season.
