"Journey into Darkness" is an exploration from the light to the dark. Craig Fitzpatrick's composition is a musical odyssey from one end of the spectrum to the other.
"Light" begins with a brief pit intro that is followed by an impact moment. There is a lilting trumpet solo and woodwind features and the opener travels from a dramatic beginning to a much more subtle ending.
The tranquil "Transformation" features a low brass solo at the beginning and end to provide a sense of closure.
"Darkness" contains driving rhythms, staccato phrases and a driving tempo. A surprising tuba solo completes the journey from light to dark.
"Journey into Darkness" contains challenging rhythms and sustained notes that will require control and finesse.
